OpenBlueDragon releases 1.2

Published: 1:10 PM GMT, Tuesday, 27 October 2009

Exactly 6 months after our 1.1 release (27th April), we are proud to officially release 1.2 of the popular GPL open source CFML runtime engine that we all know as Open BlueDragon.

We have settled into a release schedule now, enabling us to mark the milestones on a 6monthly basis while still providing you with nightly builds enabling us to quickly spot and diagnose potential problems.

This release has a few notable extras:

  • Plugin Interface overhauled enabling full SpreadSheet support
  • Full Nirvanix Cloud Files Support
  • Core Amazon SQS Support Functions
  • Updated Amazon SimpleDB support for their query language
  • Java 6 support
  • Query Slow Log Monitoring
  • +tons of smaller bug fixes

The PlugIn interface will enable us to add new functionality to the core platform of OpenBlueDragon without forcing people to reinstall. You simply drop the plugin JAR file into your /WEB-INF/lib/ folder, restart, and you have just enabled a ton of new functionality. These plugin's will move at their own development pace and enable a greater experimentation with upcoming features without effecting the core platform. The first major official plugin is the SpreadSheet functionality.

You can find the full list of changes in our Release Notes.

We wish to thank everyone that has helped us with this release. The continual feedback is helping everyone make this the world's best CFML platform to which to build your web and cloud applications on.

Remember, OpenBD will always be a free CFML engine, with no hidden costs. Go forth and CFML!
